About Us

CREATIVITY – IT’S IN OUR DNA Since opening their first salon in Wimbledon almost 25 years ago, co-founders and joint C.E.Os of RUSH Hair, Andy Phouli and Stell Andrew had a dream to open a hairdressing academy, where hairdressers could come to learn the RUSH Way. Their dream has now been turned into a reality as the RUSH Academy has recently opened in the heart of one of London’s most eclectic and cosmopolitan areas, Covent Garden. Designed by Stell Andrew, the RUSH Academy is a magical space, an urban art gallery fused with an educational centre of excellence. The light, bright classrooms, featuring concrete styling positions and can accommodate 40 students are separated form the break out and reception areas by large glass and metal partitions. A wide array of short and long term courses from Motivational Mondays to Cutting the RUSH Way, Colour RUSH and the RUSH foundation Course will all be taking place at the new Academy. The fabric of the building provided the blueprint for the design with exposed brick wall, crumbling plaster, uncovered ducting, stone flooring and metal gates and staircase all providing a raw utilitarian feel to the building. The basin area is situated in the underground arches along side the bespoke colour bar and retail units. The reception desk is made from steel and 100 year-old planks, and old laboratory desk and school chairs are situated in the breakout area, where all who visit will be intrigued by the graffiti art depicting Elvis, Jimi Hendrix and Sid Vicious by street artist Paul Insect on the exposed brick walls. Visitors to the RUSH Academy will be drawn into the larger than life urban artwork from Matt Small, who has painted two bold absorbing pieces directly onto old fridge doors. Lighting is key to creating the correct ambiance in each area of the Academy and the spectacular chandelier by British designer Tom Dixon is contemporary and at the same time makes quite a statement. Tom Dixon lighting and soft furnishings have also been used throughout the Academy. Stell and his team have created a melting pot of stimulating design, one that will inspire all who visit. Andy and Stell’s dream has become a reality, one that epitomises RUSH and what they stand for - up to date cool street fashion, innovative hairdressing and the ability to create trends and share them with fellow hairdressers around the world.

Boost Your SEO

Search Engine optimisation (SEO) is the practice of providing your web content in such a way that search engines will favor it and rank it higher in results for applicable searches. A search engine wants to be trusted by its users, so the more information it can obtain about your website, and the more consistent that information is, the better you will rank. Online business listings are a great way to support and supplement your already existing information to give it that extra validation.

For some, blogging is a way to jot down thoughts, for others it’s a way of engaging with an online community of like minded people, but for small and medium sized businesses a blog can mean the difference between cold leads and successful sales. It’s reported that businesses that own, maintain, and update a company blog regularly with fresh, relevant content boast 55 percent more website visitors on average, compared to businesses who don’t engage in content marketing. The big question is - how does blogging make such a significant difference?
